Typing score limitations
WPM and accuracy are calculated from the displayed exercise, entered text, and elapsed browser time. A result is an estimate under those conditions, not a universal measurement. Different websites may use different passages, penalties, correction rules, rounding, and timing methods.
Do not use a BabyTyping score as the sole basis for hiring, grading, diagnosis, access to a service, or another consequential decision. Use an authorised, accessible, supervised assessment when a formal decision requires one.
Browser, device, and keyboard differences
Browser scheduling, device performance, input method, keyboard layout, network conditions, focus changes, and accessibility software can influence interaction and timing. Mobile on-screen keyboards and physical desktop keyboards are not equivalent testing environments.
Comparisons are most meaningful when duration, passage type, difficulty, device, keyboard, and correction behaviour are reasonably consistent.
Educational use
Lessons and articles provide general self-directed guidance. They are not accredited instruction, ergonomic assessment, occupational therapy, or a guarantee of a particular learning outcome. Stop practice if pain, numbness, or persistent discomfort occurs and seek appropriate qualified help where needed.
