Information stored in your browser
Typing preferences, lesson completion, and up to one hundred recent results may be stored locally in your browser. This can include WPM, accuracy, duration, content type, difficulty, mistake summaries, and chart samples. Local storage helps the Progress page work without a user account.
This information normally remains on the device and browser where it was created. Clearing browser data can remove it. Other people who use the same browser profile may be able to view locally stored results, so shared-device users should clear data when appropriate.
Contact form submissions
When you submit the contact form, the name, email address, subject, message, consent confirmation, and technical request information needed for spam and security controls may be sent to BabyTyping's hosting service and configured email provider. The form reports success only after the provider accepts the message.
Contact messages are used to respond to the request, investigate problems, prevent abuse, and maintain an appropriate record of correspondence. Do not include passwords, confidential employer material, patient data, client documents, or other sensitive information.
Server logs and security information
Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, request dates, browser information, URLs, response codes, and similar logs needed to deliver the site, diagnose faults, limit abuse, and protect the service. Retention is determined by operational need and provider settings.
BabyTyping does not ask users to create an account for typing practice. The absence of an account does not mean that hosting logs or submitted messages contain no personal data.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
Essential browser storage supports preferences and progress. If analytics is enabled, the analytics provider may use cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits and page performance. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is enabled, that provider may use cookies and device information to select, deliver, limit, and measure advertisements according to its policies.
Non-essential analytics and advertising should follow applicable consent requirements. Available choices may include accepting, rejecting, or managing categories. Browser settings can also delete or block cookies, though doing so may affect remembered preferences.
Third-party services
The website may rely on hosting, security, analytics, advertising, and email-delivery providers. These services process information under their own terms and privacy notices. External links lead to services BabyTyping does not control.
Provider use may change as the website develops. This policy describes categories rather than claiming a third party never receives data when a feature may require it.
Retention and user choices
Local typing history remains until the browser data is cleared or the app removes older results. Contact correspondence may be retained while a request is active and afterward when reasonably necessary for support, security, legal compliance, or record keeping. Logs and provider records follow operational settings and legal obligations.
Depending on location, users may have rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or information about processing. Requests can be sent to hello@babytyping.com. Identity may need to be verified before acting on a request.
Children and age considerations
BabyTyping is a general educational website and does not knowingly require a child to create an account. Parents, guardians, and schools should supervise use, avoid entering a child's personal information into the contact form, and follow their own privacy and consent obligations.
If you believe a child submitted personal information through the contact form, contact us so the request can be reviewed and appropriate action considered.
Policy updates and contact
This policy may change when features, providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The updated date identifies the current version. Material changes should be reflected clearly on this page.
