Cookies and storage

Cookie Policy

This policy explains how BabyTyping.com may use browser storage, cookies, analytics identifiers, and advertising technologies, together with the controls available to visitors.

Last updated: August 4, 2026

Essential storage

The website may use technically necessary storage to deliver pages, protect endpoints, balance traffic, preserve security choices, or maintain a session required by hosting infrastructure. Disabling essential functions can prevent parts of the site from working correctly.

BabyTyping's typing engine does not require an account. Infrastructure providers may still use essential cookies or similar technologies for security and service delivery.

Preference and progress storage

Browser local storage can remember typing settings, lesson completion, and recent test results. This storage supports the Progress page and restores preferences on the same browser. It is not automatically synchronised across devices.

You can clear this information through browser site-data controls. Doing so can reset preferences and remove locally saved history.

Analytics cookies

If analytics is enabled, cookies or similar identifiers may help measure visits, popular pages, device categories, performance, and general usage patterns. Analytics should be configured to collect only information reasonably needed to understand and improve the service.

Where consent is required, non-essential analytics should remain disabled until the relevant choice is made. Provider retention and opt-out options are described in that provider's documentation.

Advertising and Google AdSense cookies

If advertising such as Google AdSense is enabled, advertising providers may use cookies, IP addresses, device signals, and activity information to deliver, limit, personalise where permitted, and measure advertisements. Google and its partners may process information under their own privacy policies.

Advertising cookies are not necessary for the core typing test. Where applicable, visitors should be able to reject or manage non-essential advertising storage through the site's consent controls or provider choices.

Consent options

Depending on location and the technologies enabled, choices may include accept all, reject non-essential, or manage categories. Withdrawing consent should be as straightforward as giving it, although prior lawful processing is not reversed.

If a consent interface is unavailable, you can use browser controls and contact hello@babytyping.com with questions. The site should not describe analytics or advertising as active when those services have not been configured.

Browser controls

Browsers allow you to view, block, and delete cookies or site data. Blocking all storage may remove progress and preferences or interfere with security functions. Private-browsing modes may discard data when the session ends.

Controls vary by browser and device. Consult the browser's official support information for current steps and remember that settings may need to be applied separately on each device.

Policy updates and contact

This policy may be updated when storage categories, analytics, advertising, providers, or legal requirements change. The date on the page identifies the current version.

Questions about cookies and browser storage can be sent through the Contact page or to hello@babytyping.com.
